We now offer two summer camp options:
TNC Empower Camp and TNC Launch Camp!
TNC Empower Camp
TNC Empower Camp is our traditional life skills camp for high school students who are working toward greater independence with support. Campers participate in structured classroom lessons, hands-on activities, and community-based learning designed to build confidence and essential life and pre-employment skills.
Students enrolled in Empower Camp should be able to:
- Independently use the restroom
- Participate in classroom-style lessons and group activities throughout the day
- Communicate basic needs to staff
- Function safely in a small group setting without requiring intensive 1:1 support
- Follow directions and participate in structured camp routines
Empower Camp is ideal for students who benefit from continued support while developing independence.
NEW! TNC Launch Camp
TNC Launch Camp is designed for independent high school students who are preparing for employment and adult life. This camp emphasizes career exploration, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and post-secondary planning.
Students enrolled in Launch Camp should:
- Demonstrate a higher level of independence across daily activities
- Be motivated to prepare for future employment and adult responsibilities
- Participate in classroom instruction, group discussions, and independent activities with minimal support
- Communicate effectively and advocate for their needs when appropriate
- Be typically served in Interrelated (IRR), MID, or Transition classroom programs, or demonstrate a similar level of independence
Launch Camp is ideal for students who are preparing to enter the workforce and are ready to build advanced job readiness skills.
All campers must be independent with restroom use, able to participate in structured group activities, communicate basic needs, and function successfully without intensive one-to-one support.
