March 21, 2025 – The Tommy Nobis Center, which for decades has helped Georgians with disabilities find success in the workforce, and Wellstar Health System have taken a successful partnership and made it even better.

Tommy Nobis Center employees are now on-site team members at the Wellstar Consolidated Service Center near Lithia Springs. The center fulfills orders for medical supplies and printed materials for patients across the healthcare system.

Wellstar first joined forces with the Tommy Nobis Center over 20 years ago. Initially, Tommy Nobis team members carried out tasks for the health system at a separate location. Today, the team is integrated within the Wellstar Consolidated Service Center building.

“They are some of the most efficient and mistake-free team members we have here, which is a pretty incredible feat and a testament to how well they do their job,” said Wellstar CSC executive director Adam Flood. “They also smile more than anyone. Their ability to interact with one another and our team members is incredible.”

The team members have Wellstar badges and enter the building just like any other Wellstar employee. They work according to their abilities and unique skill sets. According to their supervisors, no matter their role, they consistently bring commitment, joy and a high level of accuracy to the workplace.

The 175,000-square-foot facility operates as a same-day delivery retailer, providing supplies to Wellstar hospitals, health parks and other patient care locations. Wellstar/Tommy Nobis team members have various job responsibilities, including using pallet jacks to store and organize products, emptying bins, disposing of cardboard using a 40-foot compactor and assembling care packages.

“We put together kits for patients at the hospital that include pitchers, cups, straws, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and combs,” said David Moss, a Wellstar and Tommy Nobis team member. “It’s a great team to work for. We always have each other’s backs.”

Wellstar works with the Tommy Nobis Center to create new opportunities as technology evolves. The latest positions at the CSC are in quality control, working with advanced pick module technology.

“Wellstar has been our single greatest partner in our history,” said Dave Ward, Tommy Nobis Center president and CEO. “Wellstar leaders truly believe in the abilities of our teammates and have complete trust that they’ll get the job done.”

“Tommy Nobis does a fantastic job at making sure that the individual is the right fit for the job and that they can be highly successful at it,” said Michael McCullough, Wellstar’s supply chain senior vice president. “We spend quite a bit of time working with them to make sure that those job descriptions are well defined and that the individuals who are going to fill those jobs are highly qualified for those jobs because we want both parties to be successful.”

“They are team members who say they can’t wait to come to work,” said Darren Hazeur, Tommy Nobis Center’s employment site supervisor. “They have a positive attitude and encourage other team members. They feel welcomed and safe, and that showcases the culture at both Wellstar and the Tommy Nobis Center.”
