konnie-kirkWhen Connie Kirk became the first executive director of Tommy Nobis Center, she was going back to work part-time to help teenagers with disabilities who needed help getting their first jobs out of high school. That was 1977, and the Center helped 81 people that year. Four decades later, Tommy Nobis Center has provided evaluations, training and employment services to over 25,000 youth and adults with disabilities throughout 18 states ranging from Georgia to Alaska.

Connie’s work is visible in each person who has earned a paycheck, gained self-confidence and achieved their dreams because of the training and support they received through the organization. To honor her decades of dedicated service and ensure her legacy of supporting program participants through training and education continues, we have established the Connie Kirk Scholarship. By endowing a fund, we will enable people with disabilities to receive training in both the behaviors and the skills needed to earn and retain a job. Assisting more people is a fitting tribute to recognize all that Connie has done for people with disabilities through Tommy Nobis Center.
